{"id":47,"date":"2008-04-15T15:02:55","date_gmt":"2008-04-15T23:02:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/niasomoves.com\/Rachaelsblog\/2008\/04\/15\/what-is-diligence\/"},"modified":"2009-01-29T20:56:38","modified_gmt":"2009-01-30T04:56:38","slug":"what-is-diligence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/synergy-pt.net\/niablog\/what-is-diligence\/","title":{"rendered":"What is Diligence?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The focus chosen for class from the basket today was <em>diligence<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>A thoughtful discussion ensued. \u00a0We spoke of the sensation of a startle response; the sensation of &#8220;should&#8221; or &#8220;have to&#8221; or &#8220;need to;&#8221; the sensation of love, passion, desire; of devotion, dedication; of courage and strength; of being like a seed, willing to sprout and unfold no matter the climate, weather or circumstance because it is living its true nature, not because it should, but because it is simply being itself.<\/p>\n<p>Since no one knew the etymology of <em>diligence<\/em>, we designated it to be derived from <em>delicious<\/em>, akin to <em>delicatessen<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the dictionary etymology of <em>diligence<\/em>: \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>From <em>diligere<\/em>, Latin, to esteem, to love; from <em>di<\/em> + <em>ligere<\/em> to select; related to legend, from\u00a0<em>legere<\/em>, to gather; from Greek, <em>legein<\/em>, to gather, to say, <em>logos<\/em>, speech, word.<\/p>\n<p>Now I am diligent, like the seed diligently\u00a0being\u00a0a seed, like my heart, diligently beating inside my chest, like each of my 75 trillion cells diligently singing its own name, like the moment, jumping up and living in this very spot, this very body, according to its nature, such that I may flower again and yet again, devoted, loving, at peace.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The focus chosen for class from the basket today was diligence.
