After that a prescription is needed from an MD, osteopath, chiropractor, dentist, nurse practitioner or physician&#8217;s assistant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The longer answer:<\/strong> It depends on your insurance. Some insurance plans, like Medicare, require a prescription.
